"UNLESS someone like YOU cares a whole awful lot, NOTHING is going to get better. It's not." -- Dr. SeussDr. Seuss' words are inspirational and show that in order to improve the world, someone has to do something for that change to occur. A great way for 7th graders to change themselves (and maybe the world) is to begin the year by setting a goal. This goal should be something that you will have to work at to achieve during your time as a 7th grader (preferably something you haven't achieved yet). This can be a goal about school, a sport, church, etc.
For example, if I've never made the Honor Roll a great goal would be to make the Honor Roll at least once this year. But if I have never missed a day of school, I would want to pick something other than getting perfect attendance for the school year. Some goals aren't reached, but a process of how to attain a goal is achieved. I believe through the writing of goals students push themselves and can assess how they feel the year has gone. |
