The Aztec
The site on Lake Texcoc0 where Tenochtitlan was built was chosen in 1325. The Aztecs saw an eagle with a snake in its beak sitting on a cactus; this was a sign that this was meant to be the location of their new capital. Click on the picture to learn more about the Aztecs.
